Immunization Information

We follow the immunization schedule that is recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices / Centers for Disease Control. We hope that you choose to vaccinate your child according to this well researched and thought out schedule. However, we are open to talking with you about your concerns and will work with your family to provide you with the care that you feel is most appropriate for your child in regard to immunizations. These sites will provide you with most of the information that you need to know about immunizations.

American Academy of Pediatrics

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is an organization of 60,000 pediatricians committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. All our pediatricians are members of the AAP, and we look to this organization for guidance on standards of care in pediatric medicine.

Centers for Disease Control

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website contains information on virtually any health topics that may be of interest to you.

These three websites are particularly focused on providing families with up to date information on various child health issues. The Healthy Children website has a symptom checker. The WebMD and Kids Health sites also include links that your children and teens may enjoy.

Reach Out and Read

We are proud to be a Reach Out and Read site promoting early childhood literacy by starting to discuss reading with families at an early age and providing books to our patients at each of the well-child visits and physical exams from 6 months of age. In addition to Reach Out and Read, we would like to thank our generous sponsors: Target (who provides us with grant monies to purchase books for children 6 months to 5 years), the Storyteller (who donates books that we provide to patients from 6 years of age through their teenage years), and the East Bay Children’s Book Project (who provides us with books for our waiting and exam rooms).
